RELIABLE FIRE ALARM SERVICING FOR PEACE OF MIND

Fire alarms are critical for the protection of life and property. Bee Compliant provides routine testing, meticulous servicing, and fault diagnostics to ensure your systems perform reliably when it matters most. Our inspections identify potential failures early, supporting your legal compliance while enhancing overall fire safety awareness across your premises. In accordance with BS 5839-1, fire alarm systems should be professionally inspected at least every six months. For larger premises with higher device counts or complex addressed systems, quarterly inspections are recommended to ensure total system integrity. The required frequency may also vary based on your specific system type and its environmental conditions, as certain installations require more frequent technical attention to remain reliable.

COMPREHENSIVE FIRE ALARM INSPECTIONS

Whilst annual, biannual, or quarterly assessments must be carried out by a qualified professional, businesses should perform their own weekly inspections:

  • Conduct a visual check of fire alarms for obvious signs of damage or vandalism.

  • Test the alarm system weekly from at least one alarm point to ensure the system functions correctly and the control panel recognises the alert signal. Ideally, this should be done at the same time and day each week, using a different alarm point for each test.

  • Ensure all staff are familiar with your fire safety protocol, including the location of fire safety points and the schedule of tests.

  • Each alarm test should last only 5 to 60 seconds, helping staff distinguish between a test and an actual fire event.
